February 5, 2019:  Join Joe Ververka on an always exciting and enjoyable field trip to Walla Walla Park and the Horan Natural Area.  Meet in the parking lot at the north end of Walla Walla Park by the restrooms at 9:00 AM, rain or shine.  Bring your binoculars.  Dress appropriately.  Approximately 3 hours covering 2-3 miles on level ground.  Register with Joe at [email protected]  

 

February 5, 2019: A Visual Conversation about The Artic National Wildlife Refuge and Coastal Plain.  NCW Members Susan Ballinger and Tim & Mary Gallagher share stories and photos of caribou, grizzly bears, birds and plants from their adventure to the remote reaches of the coastal plain and Beaufort Sea of the Artic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska.  Mark Oswood will also be sharing his work studying the ecology of Alaskan fresh waters.  Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 7:00-8:30 PM.

Every 3rd Wednesday:  Horan Natural Area in Wenatchee

North Central Washington Audubon Society's Friends of Horan invites you to join an informal monthly bird walk to explore the Horan Natural Area, led by Wenatchee Naturalist, Susan Ballinger.  Every 3rd Wednesday, starting January 23rd.  Learn about birds, learn about Horan, build your bird list - all sightings will be entered in the eBird database.  Walks begin at 7:30 AM and finish at approximately 10:00 AM.  You're welcome to arrive late and depart early if necessary.  Meet at the north parking lot of Walla Walla Park, next to the restrooms.  Rain or shine - dress for the weather; easy walking on approximately 2 miles of gravel trails.  No RSVP needed.  (contact Susan for more info: [email protected])
